With ever-increasing mediums of visual imagery, modern artists are constantly faced with the grim task of contemplating the death of art. Painting and sculpture now share a very crowded stage along side laser holograms and computer generated images. Is art dead? The torsos of "Premature Autopsy" represent my response to this inquiry. The rresults are sculptures about sculptures; these represent sculptures that have been briefly animated, freed from their tired art-historical poses, who are responding to a modern aesthetic environment that discredits actual form making.
